Making cups
The bralette is a tight fit. Start by measuring your breast size - since the shape and the size are both highly individual it is recommended to make your own measurements and use the pattern instructions as a general guide. Measuring your breast size is very simple: you only need to determine the length between the tip of your nipple and your rib under the breast. Here is a sketch to help you understand which part exactly you need to measure: The length of that space determines the length of the starting chain you will need to make.
Chain 14+1, sc into the second stitch from your hook, sc into every chain till you reach the last chain. 2sc into the last chain, chain 2, 2 sc into the same stitch. Sc into the back of the chain across the row, chain 1, turn.
Sc across the row, 2sc + chain2 + 2sc into the 2ch space, sc back across the row. Chain 2, dc into the first stitch of the row*.
*We are chaining 2 and then working a dc into the first stitch instead of second to avoid having holes that usually occur between 3 chain and the first dc of the row.
Work 5 dc, 3 hdc, 8sc. Place 2sc+2ch+2sc into 2ch space. Work the same stitches in reverse order back. Chain two, dc into the first st. Work 7dc, 4 hdc, 7 sc. Place 2sc+2ch+2sc into 2ch space. Work the same stitches in reverse order back. *Chain two, dc into the first st. Dc across the row, 2dc+2ch+2dc into 2ch space. Dc back*. Repeat *...* twice.
Single crochet at the bottom of the cup - since there isn’t clear loops in there, you simply need to try to space the sc as evenly as you can. I have 26 sc in each cup. Chain one and work reverse sc* around the two sides of the cup as shown in the picture.
reverse single crochet also known as crab stitch is the single crochet stitch worked in the reverse direction as opposed to the normal single crochet, from left to right, one sc into the stitch to the right, keeping the working yarn to left of your hook.
In Greek mythology Daphne is a naiad, a variety of female nymph associated with fountains, wells, springs, streams, brooks and other bodies of freshwater.Due to a curse made by the god Eros on the god Apollo, he became the unwilling object of the infatuation of Apollo, who chased her against her wishes. Just before being kissed by him, Daphne pleaded to her river god father for help, who transformed her into a laurel tree, thus foiling Apollo.
Start sc into the bottom of your first cup, join the second cup with a slip stitch, sc into the bottom till the end, chain 10+1. Sc into the second chain, sc across till there are 2 sts left of the row (60sts). Take another skein, join the yarn with a slip stitch into the last st of the row, chain 10, secure the thread, cut the yarn. Continue sc into the chain, you now have 72 sc in this row. Chain one and work 5 rows (or any uneven number of rows if you want it longer) of the flying shell stitch. Tie a knot and cut the yarn.
*The flying shell (FS) stitch is worked in multiples of 4 sts + 1 st for the base chain.
**Place sc into the first st, chain 3, 3dc into the same stitch, skip 3 chs** (FS), repeat **...** till the last stitch of the row, place sc into last st. Chain 3, turn, work dc into the same sts as 3 c. *Sc into the top stitch of the 3 ch of the previous row. Dc+ 1ch +dc (V st) into sc of the previous row*. Repeat *...* till the last st of the row, work 2 dc into the last st.
Chain 3, turn, *3 dc into the same sts as 3 ch, sc+ 3 ch + 3 dc into sc of the previous row*, repeat, sc into the last sc, 3ch, 2dctog over top of last dc and 3ch, turn.
Chain 1, work the same as row 2.
Chain 1, 1 sc into the first st, chain 3, 3dc into the same stitch. *Skip first V st, FS into next sc* repeat from * ending last V st, 1 sc into 3chain, turn.
Slip stitch into the beginning of the side of the top as indicated in the picture. Chain 1, sc till the end of the row (16 sts). Three rows of dc into back loop.
Chain on, slip st into the 4th st, chain 5, skip 3, slip st 4, chain 5, skip 3, slip st till the end of the row, tie a knot, cut the thread.
Sc into the the other side of the top, 4 rows of dc into back loop. Sew the buttons.
Chain 5, top the chain throw the hole on top of a cup, slip stitch into the 4th ch, continue chaining till you reach your desired length but minimum 70 chs. Repeat the same for the second cup.
