Chain 25+1, single crochet into the chain, work 3 sc into the last chain, sc across the other side of the chain. Chain 1, sc into the same stitch, sc across, 3 sc into the middle stitch of 3 sc of the previous row, sc across the other side.
R. 3
Chain 2, work double herringbone stitch in 1st st, DHBS across, 3 DHBS into the middle stitch of 3 sc of the previous row, HBS across the other side.
R. 4-5
Take contrasting yarn (Washi 127), work 2 rows of DHBS.
R. 6-7
Work 2 rows of DHBS with your first yarn (Washi 106).
Count 18 stitches from the square side of the bag. Take your second yarn (127), work 3 rows of sc from the bottom up. Count 9 sts, fold the bag, slip stitch the side together. Repeat with the other side. Chain 1, sc across the inside edge of the bag working 2 sc together on the sides of the bag - you decrease 6 sts to 3, work sc across the edge, decrease the other side of the bag. Chain one, decrease the sides again, sc across the inner edge of the bag, sc across the flap’s edge as well. Chain 20 at the corner of the side of the bag, cut the thread, slip stitch into the chain with your first yarn, creating a cord. Attach the end of the cord to the same corner creating a loop.
Wrap the thread 10 times around a 15 cm piece of cardboard, take it off, knot at the top, cut the bottom, pull the top strings into the 1st chain, tie a knot, put the ends with the rest of the tassel, wrap a piece of thread around, tie the knot and put the ends with the rest of the tassel. Trim the ends. Attach the tassel to the middle of the edge of the bag’s flap.
